Tuesdays With Dorie - Black-And-White Banana Loaf

How blaise! I put together a recipe and it turned out pretty well. With the exception of replacing whole milk with 2% milk, I followed this thing to the letter. It turned out well. It was moist and delicious. I have no complaints (and subsequently nothing to write about).
I’m beginning to feel more comfortable baking, and each little “disaster” becomes easier to overcome out of sheer experience and ingenuity. Of course, next week’s ice cream will be a whole different ballgame. I’m undecided as to whether I’ll buy an ice-cream-maker or do the alternative method.
I have a job interview tomorrow (er…today if you’re reading this on Tuesday), so I’m going to rest up. Expect to see some fun content in the near future.

Baking every week for TWD has definitely made me more comfortable with baking as well.

Good luck with the interview! And have fun with the ice cream for next week. I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to buy a new ice cream maker or hand crank my ice cream–I broke the motor on mine this past weekend.

Well, I hope your job interview went well, they’d be lucky to have a guy who bakes! Your loaf looks pretty near perfect, well done!

Great baking, hopefully great interview! Your nutritional analysis makes me feel glad I refuse to eat the nasty loaf I made–not worth all that bad stuff. Nice job!

I am so disappointed! I come here to read about disasters!! LOL. But seriously. I am glad you are getting along better in the kitchen. Isn’t it a great feeling (well aside from the fact that you dont have much to write about. haha)? Good luck with the interview.

Hope you score the job. It’s a good omen that your bread came off without a hitch. I swear I had those plates in college. Wonder what happened to them….

Nice looking cake! Hope the interview went well for you:)

Nice work, Mike! Good luck on the interview. Maybe you should bring them a slice of banana & choc cake? Oh, wait, it’s already Weds - I guess I’m a bit late with the suggestion. Well, you could always enclose it with your follow-up note. Everyone loves a co-worker who bakes! LOL.
August 6th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Nice job - and yeah - it’s so much more interesting when SOMETHING happens with a recipe! Hope the interview went well!

You deserve a good baking week (and you’ve been a real trooper so far), so congrats on the lovely loaf…I wish I can say the same for me this week.

Hey hun. Sorry long time no talk! How did the interview go? I heard you looked real snazzy…haircut and all. And also something about Deb thinking you were hot… Oh and I’m going to be a little late with the prompt tomorrow. Probably won’t get it done until 11 pm. They are running me ragged here!
