These cookies came out boringly well!  I guess that’s a good thing, but it’s almost embarrassing how little I have to say about the cookies.  I was happy to see that there is far less butter than the previous week’s recipe.  The batter was great, and the cookies came out nicely.  I liked the crunch the Whoppers added to the whole affair.

Let me share a little Ugly Dude baking secret with you:  after a hot, sweaty, extended day at the gym, sometimes you just gotta bake cookies without a shirt on.  So that’s what I did.  Some would say that the secret ingredient was pit-sweat.  I’d say the secret ingredient was extra chocolate.  You decide.

Umm… pit sweat… adds that little salty something? I’m going to hope the secret was chocolate, just so I can sleep at night, k?

  2. Jules Says:

Personally, I’m hoping for the chocolate. I can’t go with the alternative. Nice looking cookies!

  3. steph (whisk/spoon) Says:

i agree with caitlin…you should tell your taste testers it’s fleur de sel!

    So unfair!

Men can cook without shirts on, but if we ladies try it….things might get a bit scorched.

  5. Melissa Says:

Your cookies look great. Mine came out boringly well also… I guess that’s a good thing though. Hopefully your tasters aren’t also readers, cause the thought of pit sweat turns the stomach a little. :-)

  6. Nancy Says:

OK, that borders on TMI! Sometimes boring is a good thing, especially when it means the cookies turn out looking like yours!

  7. Cathy Says:

Boring is good. I’m going with the extra chocolate. I am admiring the puffiness of your cookies — mine were flat little buggers.

  8. rainbowbrown Says:

I agree. Sometimes you’ve just gotta stand free at the oven and hope for the best. Your cookies look great.

  18. Erin Says:

I’ve heard of saliva making the dish, so I often feel free to taste liberally as I go. I think you’re the first in history to suggest that pit sweat might add a certain extra something to your dish. I’ll have to take your word for it, since I can’t imagine myself doing the equivalent. Topless….

I can get used to things going boringly well on the baking front. I know from experience, when it goes bad it is usually a colossal disaster and I can only handle that now and again.

  20. Beth G Says:

  21. Nichole Says:

Can I just say ewwww…. Now I’m kind of regretting ever tasting any of your cooking. LOL.

  22. Kristie Says:

Your cookies are all curvacious and bumpy. Like little nuggets of braille that read “Kristie, your cookies were flat and sticky.” Must you mock?

  23. Mari Says:

A little funk in the kitchen never hurt! ;-)

  24. Rigby Says:
